Om het mooie product van onze lokale fruittelers eer aan te doen, starten de producenten-organisaties BelOrta en Coöperatie Hoogstraten -onder de vlag van LAVA- een gezamenlijk kwaliteitslabel. Aan dit label herken je de echte Blauwe Bessen van Belgische Bodem. Een label dat garant staat voor een superieure productkwaliteit en de korte keten van onze verse bessen. LOKAAL EN LEKKER Superieure productkwaliteit, uitstekende smaak en supervers zijn de parameters voor onze Belgische blauwe bessen. Daarvoor zorgen de lokale fruittelers, die met passie en expertise én volgens de gezamenlijke kwaliteitsnormen deze lekkernij op de markt brengen. TOPKWALITEIT De Belgische blauwe bes is zwartblauw van kleur en heeft een mat, dof oppervlak ten gevolge van dons. Dat natuurlijk beschermlaagje is een kwaliteitskenmerk van handmatig oogsten . De Belgische blauwe bessen worden zorgvuldig met de hand, een voor een, geplukt. Na het plukken worden de besjes voorzichtig in doosjes verdeeld en kort in een optimale koeling geplaatst voor ze op de veiling verkocht worden.

Our sustainable fruit and vegetable sector

THE COOPERATIVE VEGETABLE AND FRUIT SECTOR MORE SUSTAINABLE SUSTAINABLE With 'Responsibly Fresh', the vegetable and fruit growers and their cooperatives, affiliated with VBT, have made collective efforts towards sustainability. They first put things in order in-house. Obtaining certificates and checking by external organizations demonstrate meaningful progress. Six years and three sustainability reports later, the time has come to come out.

Location impact

Low impact, because it is important that nature can do its work in the tele and marketing of fruit and vegetables and that the impact of interventions on people and the environment remains as limited as possible.

Biodiversity

Biodiversity, because it is downright unsustainable if the agricultural activity disturbs the natural order in the environment instead of striving for the integration of fruit and vegetable cultivation in nature and the environment.

Close proximity

Proximity, because it is important to know where the fruit and vegetables come from in the store and how they got there.

Nutritional thrift

Food thrift, because it is shocking to see that tasty and healthy food is lost or wasted.
